As cold weather tightens its grip on the Danville area those who are homeless, or at risk of being homeless, are getting some help.
The Danville Public Library hosted its annual ‘Project Uplift Resource Fair’ Friday giving the homeless an opportunity to learn about local programs offering everything from food and shelter to health care.
Jessica Augustson, Outreach Service Director for the Library, said a variety of agencies were on hand….
The event ran for three hours and within the first hour more than 35 people had stopped by for help.
Karel Volpert, Director of Fair Hope Children’s Ministry in Danville, described what was being distributed at her table….
Augustson was asked how people can help…
This is the fourth year that the Danville Public Library has hosted the event.
