ALICIA KEYS TO HOST NICK NEWS SPECIAL: Alicia Keys is set to host Kids, Race and Unity: A Nick News Special, an hourlong special set for June 29th at 7 pm on Nickelodeon. The special will focus on the voices and experiences of black children across the U.S. The special will be simulcast on TeenNick, Nicktoons and the Nick app and YouTube channel. It will be the first in a series of Nick News specials that will air on Nickelodeon in the coming months.
LUCIFER RENEWED FOR SIXTH AND FINAL SEASON AT NETFLIX? Lucifer will leave for a sixth and final season on Netflix. Although, for those keeping track, this is the second time Netflix has renewed Lucifer for a final season. Lucifer focuses on Tom Ellis as the famous fallen angel and the Lord of Hell, working with the LAPD to take down Earth’s bad guys.
OVER THE MOON TRAILER DROPS: Netflix and Pearl Studio have released the first trailer for Over the Moon, the animated retelling of the Chinese myth about the legendary Moon Goddess. The voice cast includes Phillipa Soo, Ken Jeong, John Cho, Ruthie Ann Miles, Margaret Cho, Kimiko Glenn, Artt Butler, Sandra Oh and newcomers Cathy Ang and Robert G Chiu. The film will drop this fall.
MICHAEL KEATON IN TALKS TO PLAY BATMAN AGAIN: Michael Keaton, who took on the Dark Knight in the Tim Burton-directed Batman film, is in talks to reprise the character for Warner Bros’ DC movie The Flash. Ezra Miller will star as Barry Allen, aka the Flash. Keaton may also return for other DC film projects, according to The Hollywood Reporter. He is in talks for a role as a mentor or guide for young up-and-comers.
