Danville Police are reporting three shooting incidents from the weekend of Friday, May 1st through Sunday, May 3rd. The Vermilion County Coroner’s Office has identified 22-year-old Ricky Dandridge, Jr of Danville as the victim in Saturday’s shooting incident, which occurred in the Save-A-Lot parking lot, at 2 East Main Street in Danville, around 5:03 PM.
Danville Police reported in a Saturday evening release that after responding to reports of a physical altercation involving gunfire, officers located two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were transported for medical treatment, with Dandridge later being pronounced deceased. The second victim’s identity and condition were not released. One person was reported to be in custody, pending formal charges.
Danville Police have also reported that on the following morning, Sunday around 10:53 AM, officers responded to the 900 block of Lewis Lane for a report of multiple shots fired. Officers found three victims of gunshot wounds; 19, 18, and 17-year-old males. All three were transported to a local hospital, and listed in stable condition.
In addition, Danville Police have reported that at the start of the weekend, Friday afternoon around 4:26 PM, police located two juveniles suffering from gunshot wounds in the 600 block of East Williams. The two victims were taken to a local hospital and listed in stable condition, while a third person walking with them when two gunshots were heard was not injured.
No arrests were reported by police in either of the latter two incidents.
