Aqua Illinois Water Company is reminding customers who are struggling to pay their water bill that assistance is available. The 2021 Low Income Household Water Assistance Program was created by the federal government to assist low-income households with their drinking water and wastewater bills.
Illinois householdsat or below the 200-percent poverty level are eligible for assistance through the program. Local administering agencies are now available throughout the state. Aqua Illinois customers are being encouraged by the company to contact their county agencies for information on the program, eligibility requirements and application instructions.
