It’s that time of year again for those that love the Red Mask plays at Kathryn Randolph Theatre. “The Trouble with Cats” is on stage both this weekend and the following weekend. Jamey Coutant and Shannon Schroeder joined Linda Bolton on 1490 WDAN’s News Makers program to give us a preview.
AUDIO: (Jamey) It is about a couple who are house sitting a house in Minnesota. And that would be myself and Dave Techtow. We run into all kinds of characters. There’s some very wacho neighbors played by Shannon and Brian Schroeder. (Shannon) It is a really, really funny comedy. Relationships kind of spin and unspin. There’s all sorts of surprises around every corner.
Both Coutant and Schroeder agreed, this is a good comedy for the area right now.
AUDIO: (Jamey) Tim Kirby, who’s directing the show, actually brought this script to the board. He had been in it in Rantoul. (Shannon) This show will deliver in the laugh department. It really will. You’ll find a relatable character.
The Trouble with Cats will be this weekend, January 28th, 29th, and 30th, at 7:30 PM, 7:30 PM, and 2 PM respectively. And then the same times for the weekend of February 4th, 5th, and 6th. The box office opens 45 minutes prior to each show, or you can leave ticket requests at 217-442-5858, or e-mail to boxoffice@redmaskplayers.com.
