THE FOLLOWING IS A VERMILION COUNTY STATE’S ATTORNEY’S OFFICE RELEASE
On April 15, 2024, Terry Carter (DOB 6/30/1992) formerly of Danville, Illinois, pleaded guilty to Possession of Methamphetamine With Intent to Deliver, a Class X Felony, for a sentence of 15 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections, followed by a term of 18 months mandatory supervised release.
Judge Robert McIntire heard evidence that an investigation by the Vermilion County Metropolitan Group uncovered that Terry Carter was dealing methamphetamine in the city of Danville. Through a series of controlled buys, enough evidence was gathered to obtain a search warrant for Carter’s residence. During the execution of the search warrant, agents found Carter tobe in possession of a large amount of methamphetamine, packaging materials and drugparaphernalia. During an interview with law enforcement, Carter admitted to selling methamphetamine.
State’s Attorney Jacqueline Lacy thanked the members of the Vermilion County Metropolitan Group for their tireless work to stop illegal drugs from endangering our community
