The City of Danville Public Works Department is getting crew and plows all ready for the coming snowstorm. Public works director Carl Carpenter says they’ve got a plan, with adjustments set depending upon how much snow comes. For obvious reasons, there’s plenty of salt still left, and no illness or personnel problems.

Public Works’ Dave Ruwe wanted to remind everyone that while the snow is falling, they’ll be doing a “two passes on each street” routine to keep up with things. Once it starts to come to an end, THEN they’ll be going curb to curb.
Audio PlayerAUDIO: So while it’s still snowing, we try to make sure we’re covering the whole city. So what we do is we just do like two passes down the middle of each road. We don’t go curb to curb yet. And then as the snow stops, that’s when we’ll start clearing everything from curb to curb.
And a reminder from Danville Public Works to everyone, please get off the streets and park in your driveways. Otherwise your car will be buried, or they may not be able to get through on your street. If you live on a street without driveways, work with your neighbors to at least get all cars parked on one side of the street.
