The Georgetown Fair is kicking off Friday, August 5th; with Future Farmers of America students showing their work in various categories throughout the day.
Board of Directors president Don Hackler says, there’s a lot of improvements out at the fairgrounds this year.
AUDIO: We’ve upgraded our barns a lot. We’ve added a large pavilion for our AG produce and our farm equipment displays so we don’t have to put up a big machinery tent every year. That’s going to save on the tent set up, and hopefully give us a permanent structure to utilize in the off season a little bit more.
The Georgetown Fair runs Friday, August 5th through Saturday, August 13th.
And while the carnival gets going next Tuesday, Hackler says there’s plenty on the menu this weekend, such as the horse and car shows on Saturday.
AUDIO: Sunday we’ve got a gospel sing that’s going to go on in our banquet center, from 2 to 4 in the afternoon. Then after that gospel sing at 5 o’clock, we will have a community church service that’s sponsored by our ministers association, from the Georgetown – Ridge Farm area.
An ice cream social is also scheduled for 4 PM Sunday. There will be the queen pageant Monday; and then of course towards the end of next week: loads of entertainment; from the Craig Morgan concert Friday to the Logan Kirby performance on Saturday. And Saturday will also be Kiddie Day, and also of course, the demolition derby.
