Beautiful fall weather brought out even more than expected at Thursday’s Kiwanis Pancake Day at the David S. Palmer Arena. Coordinator Wes Bieritz from Kiwanis of Danville said it was a larger crowd than expected starting with the 6 AM opening.
AUDIO: Just a little bit more than we thought for the morning and the noon hour; so maybe that’s a good indication. I think we’ve got enough material for 3,000. We’ll have plenty of cooks and plenty of volunteers, yes. We do have those; they’ve been great, they’ve been super.
As Bieritz reminds us, this is all to help support about 20 youth organizations, all local.
AUDIO: Only from Vermilion County and they’re all associated with youth charities, exactly.
The serving at Thursday’s Kiwanis Pancake Day was scheduled to last until 8 PM.
