The City of Danville is hosting the 48th Annual Vermilion River Fall Festival, this coming weekend in Ellsworth Park. And this year, they’re back to three days; Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Danville Community Relations Administrator Ashton Greer, along with Community Relations Coordinator Rheanna Ollis, recently joined Tommy B on D102’s The Big Show. Ollis recalled the thrill of attending the event as a child.
AUDIO: I was a little kid, like four or five, going to these; and I remember looking down over the bridge and seeing Ellsworth, and having all the tents up. And now it’s so cool that I’m actually part of creating the event; the actual set up for it.

Greer says that as always, you can buy some items and buy some great food; or just enjoy the autumn atmosphere.
AUDIO: But it’s just amazing to see the lines of cars, and the floods of people. And I think what’s so amazing about the Fall Festival is that there’s no admission cost. It’s completely free to enjoy the sights, sounds, the music. To just come out and, I don’t know, you don’t have to spend any money if you don’t want to, but there’s all those food choices too.

And as Ollis points out, there’s something unique each day, starting with the Friday and Saturday live music.
AUDIO: So Friday, from 5 to 8, we’re going to have the PBS Band. So a live band both nights. Saturday, we’re going to have 90s Daughter from 5 to 8. And then of course, on Sunday, we have our Family Day. So we have a lot of different kids crafts, and we have balloon animals, and all of that fun stuff on Family Day.
The Fall Festival in Ellsworth Park runs 10 to 8 Friday and Saturday, and 10 to 4 on Sunday.
