Danville District 118 wants families with children heading for kindergarten this coming fall to know that this coming Wednesday, April 24th, is your day. The place to go is the Danville High School Fieldhouse, between 12 Noon and 5 PM. Assistant Superintendent John Hart says; no matter where your child will be attending kindergarten within the district, a representative from your building will be on hand.
AUDIO: So we’ll all the buildings’ secretaries. It’s an “early out day” that day for us that day, so all the kindergarten teachers will be there. The students will be able to meet the teachers. We’re going to walk everybody through the process of getting their students registered.
Hart says the topic of medical requirements will certainly be covered.
AUDIO: We’ll be checking physicals, hopefully giving physicals; and setting up appointments for physicals in the future. So, the closer you get to school, the harder it is to get an appointment. We’re going to help you there. So with the partnership of the Southern Illinois Healthcare Foundation being at Danville High School, we’re going to make it happen.
Hart says families will leave the Wednesday registration session at the DHS Fieldhouse knowing what they need to begin the school year.
