Memorial Day Weekend has almost arrived. And Monday, May 18th is the final official day to purchase flags to be displayed on the Danville Rotary Club’s traditional MEMORIAL WAY along North Vermilion Street.
One of the organizations very much involved in this; the Vermilion County War Museum. Museum president Larry Weatherford says you can go online Monday, as the museum will be closed. But don’t worry. If you still need assistance with purchasing a flag on Tuesday; Weatherford says just come on into the museum at 307 North Vermilion, and they will take care of you.

AUDIO: They can online, to rotaryflags.com, and they can order online. If they have a problem ordering online, even though Monday’s the last day, they can still come here on Tuesday between noon and 4, and they can get their flags; and we’ll get them to the Rotary folks. Because we want to honor as many Veterans as we can; and Rotary’s agreed, if they do them here on Tuesday, we’re in good shape.
And Danville Rotary volunteers will be out there Friday morning, placing the flags from Downtown Danville all the way up to the Walmart, turning North Vermilion into MEMORIAL WAY for the holiday weekend.
