ABOVE: CRIS HEALTHY AGING CENTER EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR LISA MILLER POSES DURING FINAL HALF HOUR OF CRIS’ FIRST HEALTH, SAFETY, AND WELLNESS FAIR ON FRIDAY, MAY 29TH
It was their first ever Health, Safety, and Wellness Fair. And was scheduled for 1 to 3 PM Friday afternoon (May 29th) in the CRIS Healthy Aging Center at 309 North Franklin in Danville. But CRIS Executive Director Lisa Miller says some of their regular clients came as early as 10 AM to make sure they were ready and had a good seat. And with everyone there from the Health Department to the State’s Attorney’s Office to Danville Police to loads and loads of others; Miller said the goal of helping seniors live strong, independent lives in their homes for as long as possible was certainly felt. And that’s why they’ll be doing this again next year, to bring so much helpful information to one spot.

AUDIO: That’s our number one focus is keeping the seniors safe and independent in their own homes for as long as possible. So I thought, “If we had all these other agencies here, we could all work in collaboration. And then they will be right at their fingertips; and they can actually meet with them in person.” And so, it was a huge success today.

Miller stated that a total of 24 vendors attended Friday’s Health, Safety, and Wellness Fair at CRIS Healthy Aging.
