THE FOLLOWING IS AN ILLINOIS HOUSE REPUBLICAN CAUCUS RELEASE
Illinois House Democrats finalized passing legislation to allow undocumented immigrants to pay in-state tuition at public universities. Concurring with changes made in the Senate, the House once again gave approval to House Bill 5093.
State Representative Adam Niemerg voted against the measure and said Illinois spent $3.2 or $4 billion on illegal immigration and we’re allowing illegal immigrants that are here in the state of Illinois to have better services for in-state tuition than folks in Indiana, Wisconsin, Missouri, Kentucky that would want to come to Illinois for their education.
The bill was once again passed along party lines and heads to the governor’s desk where it is expected to be signed
