Jackson Street in Danville is closed at Davidson, in both directions, and will be for the next several hours due to a fallen utility pole; along with a hanging power cable hovering over Jackson Street.
Danville Public Works has told CIMG that a neighbor reported the pole to be wobbling recently, and that this was not caused by a collision with a vehicle. It appears that the bottom of the pole had been rotting, and nearby damage from last Thursday’s major storms may have worsened the situation.
THIS WILL AFFECT RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC. Please avoid Jackson Street between Winter Ave and North Ridge Middle School.
This is on the southwest corner of the Jackson – Davidson intersection. Danville Public Works said AT&T will be coming to fix the pole.
