DANVILLE — A Vermilion County jury on Thursday found a Tilton woman guilty of possession of a controlled substance and driving under the influence.
Joanna Wells, 57, of Tilton, was found guilty of the possession charge, a class 4 felony, and DUI — Blood Alcohol Concentrate Over 0.08, a class A misdemeanor.
Vermilion County Assistant State’s Attorney Layne Roberts and First Assistant State’s Attorney Kevin Schneider prosecuted the case. The trial was presided over by Judge Karen Wall.
The state’s attorney’s office presented evidence that on Sept. 17, 2024, around 3:47 p.m., the Tilton Police Department was dispatched to an alleyway in the area of West Seventh Street for a car accident after a Chevrolet Impala struck a concrete retaining wall.
