The Georgetown Fair begins Saturday, July 11th; for its week long run through Saturday the 18th. Fair Board member Bethany Boose joined Tommy B on D102’s The Big Show; letting us know that there are plenty of daily events right from the start.
AUDIO: We’re going to kick it off Saturday night with our fan favorite rodeo. That’s always fun. We hope that we have much drier weather this year, so that our grandstand events get to go on as planned. Monday we’ve got our ping pong prize drop, which is always fun for the kids. We work real hard to try and get donations for that. It’s free for the kids; lots of gifts in there too. Tuesday, we have our quarter-midget racing; which is always fun to sit around. They’re local kids who come and race their go karts, and it’s always fun to watch them.

The carnival runs Tuesday the 21st through Saturday the 25th, but you can go to georgetownfair.org and order daily armbands ahead of time at five dollars off. And as Bethany Boose reminds us, don’t forget to get over to the animal and livestock showings; to meet some special kids and special families.
AUDIO: I’m a livestock girl at heart. I grew up showing hogs and cattle. So that’s kind of where my passion lies in the fair. We have tons and tons of livestock shows throughout the week. The 4H kids, the FFA kids, and also just open and junior kids that come from all over to exhibit their projects, that they work really hard on all year long.
Continuing with some of the daily events; the tractor and trailer pull will be Wednesday, the side-by-side rodeo is Thursday, local country musicians 90s Daughter and Sunset Strip will be at the grandstands on Friday; and then there’s the demolition derby on the final Saturday.
