OAKWOOD — News that construction is expected to start in mid-November on the Oakwood school district’s new sports complex has residents buzzing.
“It’s about time,” said Harlan Freeman, a more-than-40-year resident who will get a front-row seat to the work as it will happen basically in his backyard along Seymour Street.
Being a longtime sports guy and having played three sports himself, he was excited to hear about plans finally coming together after decades of talk.
“We have been behind the curve for every sports facility we have,” he said. “I’m pretty excited for the program. I’m anxious to see how it transforms.”
Freeman said it sounds like the plans are moving right along.
