Vermilion County Clerk Robyn Heffern says things have been going smoothly since the early voting period for the upcoming November 3rd election got started last Thursday, September 24th. Heffern did mention to CIMG that one important factor to keep in mind is that if you are not registered to vote with all updated information, you must to so by October 6th IF you still want to wait until later or until Election Day to vote. October 7th is when “Grace Period Voting” begins; and that means you have to do the registering and the voting at the same time.
AUDIO: The only thing I can suggest is if they’re not registered to vote they need to get in here. Because starting October 7th we start the Grace Period Registration, which means they have to register and vote at the same time.
Early voting is available at the Vermilion County Clerk’s Office, in the Joseph G. Cannon County Building at 201 N. Vermilion in Danville, Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 4:30 PM. If you would like to vote early and you need a Saturday to fit it in, the Vermilion County Clerk’s Office will be opening for early voting on three separate Saturdays; October 17th, 24th, and 31st; from 9 AM to 12 Noon. Registration with Grace Period Voting available on those days as well.
