DANVILLE — Danville-area residents don’t have to wait much longer as the grand opening date for Danville’s newly-constructed Chick-fil-A has been announced.
Four months after its groundbreaking, with local union members protesting the lack of local labor used in the development at the former Red Lobster site at 3217 N. Vermilion St., the restaurant will be opening Oct. 15.
The company said Chick-fil-A will begin serving the Danville community at its newest location at 6:30 a.m. that Thursday.
Some restaurant highlights: it features a playground for children, it has approximately 135 full- and part-time employees and JD Oaks is the local owner-operator.
The restaurant is committed to giving back to the Danville community by:
- Celebrating its opening with a $25,000 donation from Chick-fil-A, Inc. to support local hunger relief efforts of Eastern Illinois Foodbank, a Feeding America partner food bank, in honor of the new restaurant.
- Participating in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table program, which redirects surplus food to local nonprofits, helping to create more than 50 million meals nationwide to date.
