THE FOLLOWING IS A DANVILLE AREA COMMUNITY COLLEGE RELEASE
October 8 event will highlight employment, apprenticeship and training opportunities
DANVILLE, Ill. – Danville Area Community College will host its Skilled Trades Fall Expo on Thursday, October 8, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the front DACC parking lot. The event is open to anyone interested in exploring career opportunities in the skilled trades.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet directly with area employers, learn about apprenticeship opportunities and discover training programs that can prepare them for careers in skilled trades. Those attending are encouraged to bring copies of their resumes and take advantage of the opportunity to make connections with local employers.

“The Fall Expo gives people a chance to have real conversations with employers about the opportunities that are available right here in our area,” said Ami Siefert, Director of Career and Veteran’s Services at DACC. “It is a great opportunity for students, job seekers or anyone considering a new career path to learn what employers are looking for and what training can help them get started.”
The expo is designed to connect education and workforce opportunities in one location, making it easy for attendees to learn more about potential careers, the skills employers need and the different pathways available to enter the workforce.
“We encourage attendees to bring a resume, ask questions and make connections,” Siefert added. “You never know when one conversation may lead to an apprenticeship, training opportunity or future job.”
