Tracing its history back to 1957, this year’s Parke County, Indiana Covered Bridge Festival is set to begin this Friday, October 9th; and will run through Sunday, October 18th.
Nine different Festival Communities within the Parke County region will once again help celebrate the area’s 31 historic covered bridges.
The Parke County Visitors Center has told CIMG about three special highlights for the opening weekend of the Covered Bridge Festival”
- On Saturday the 10th, there is “Shop Late on the Square,” as all shops will be open until 8 PM.
- Remember there are bus tours departing from the northwest corner of the Rockville Courthouse Square. (For the bus tours, tickets are needed, go to www.coveredbridges.com.)
- All through this year’s Covered Bridge Festival, in Rosedale, Chicken Noodle Dinners will be available. Proceeds will help purchase a new roof for the Rosedale Civic Center.
