THE FOLLOWING IS A DANVILLE FIRE DEPARTMENT RELEASE

DANVILLE, IL – On Thursday, October 8, 2026, at 12:11 a.m., the Danville Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 417 N. Collett Street.
Engine 1 arrived and reported fire showing from the rear of the single-family residence. Firefighters encountered an electrical hazard involving a sparking power line. Ameren Illinois responded to assist.
Firefighters extinguished the fire and completed searches of the residence. No occupants were found inside, and no injuries were reported.
The estimated property loss is $22,000. No smoke alarms were present in the residence. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
All fire department units cleared the scene at 2:18 a.m.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Danville Fire Department Fire Investigation Team and the Illinois State Fire Marshal’s Office.
