DANVILLE, Ill. — Second Chance Animal Adoption Center, formerly known as the Humane Society of Danville, is hiring an Operations Coordinator and an Animal Caregiver / Adoption Counselor. These two part-time positions will support the center’s daily work, strengthen volunteer and community engagement, and help animals find caring homes.
The positions reflect a thoughtful approach to staffing, with dedicated attention to two important areas of the organization: coordinating operations and community support, and providing hands-on animal care and adoption services. Both employees will work closely with the Executive Director to advance the center’s mission.
The Operations Coordinator will work approximately 20 hours per week, supporting volunteer recruitment, training and scheduling, social media and website updates, fundraising events, and facility maintenance coordination. Strong customer service, organizational skills, and schedule flexibility are essential.
The Animal Caregiver / Adoption Counselor will work approximately 20–25 hours per week, providing daily animal care, maintaining clean and safe facilities, assisting prospective adopters, and processing adoptions. Applicants must have hands-on animal care experience and flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Second Chance Animal Adoption Center welcomes applicants who want to put their skills to work for animals and the people who care about them. These opportunities offer meaningful ways to contribute to the center’s next chapter and its continued service to the Danville community.
