ABOVE: The Danville Fire Department was among numerous departments assisting the Perrysville Volunteer Fire Department at Monday morning’s electrical panel fire at the Beef House.
The Perrysville Volunteer Fire Department’s Captain David Freeman has told CIMG that Covington’s Beef House restaurant will likely have to be closed “for quite a while” after a Monday morning electrical panel fire; due to electric rewiring that will be needed.
Freeman stated there were no injuries, and that the alarm was received at about 9:45 AM Indiana time, with firefighters on the scene by about 10 Indiana time.
AUDIO: We had to wait for the electric company to come to shut down the power; so we could actually apply water to the area, as it would cool down faster. Unfortunately it cause a lot of smoke, electrical smoke.

Captain Freeman stated that although there was significant smoke, the fire itself was contained to the one small electrical panel area.
AUDIO: It was basically contained to the electrical panel itself. It was burning red; the heat of it did get part of the ceiling, there was some smoke that got up into the roof. We had a lot of smoke flowing throughout the area.
On hand to assist Perrysville were fire departments from Danville, Covington, Cayuga, West Lebanon; and the Vermilion County, IN EMA (Emergency Management Agency.)
