Danville Noon Rotary welcomed Grant Thompson, Area Vice President of Central Illinois Multimedia Group and Mary (Surprenant) Lovejoy, Events and Promotions Director. It was announced in May that Champaign Multimedia Group completed its acquisition of eight downstate radio stations including D102, WDAN, 94.9 K-ROCK and VermilionCountyFirst.com in Danville. It changed its name to Central Illinois Multimedia Group to mark the expansion and remains a powerful force in local news & radio. With almost 30 years of experience, Mr. Thompson is excited to be part of Danville but does acknowledge that following Mike Hulvey of Neuhoff Media will be “big shoes to fill”. He is committed to continue the Neuhoff tradition of excellence in local broadcasting. Mary was drawn to this role because of the regional aspect. Her involvement with United Way, Kiwanis, Vermilion County Republicans and local real estate are just a few examples of her value to the local community and she is excited about the regional aspect of this new role.
Danville Noon Rotary’s next meeting is Monday, August 26 at WorkSource Enterprises, 3713 N. Vermilion St Danville, IL. Guest speaker will be Illinois State Senator Paul Faraci for a legislative update. Danville Noon Rotary would like to welcome everyone!
