THE FOLLOWING IS A DANVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT RELEASE
Early Friday morning 10/11/24 at about midnight Danville Police Officers were patrolling in the 1300 block of E. Williams Street. Officers witnessed a vehicle driving erratic well above the speed limit. Two officers attempted to stop the vehicle and it initially refused by speeding off but eventually stopped in the area of Porter and Seminary Streets.
During the stop investigation officers located an unlawful firearm in the vehicle. The driver, 26-year-old Trentaia Johnson of Danville was arrested for Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Fleeing and Attempting to Elude Police.
The Danville Police Department reminds the public that all subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
