If you were driving during the noon hour Friday (July 25th) and passed by 1035 East Main in Danville; you probably noticed a large gathering outside the former TeePak Credit Union building. That building has belonged to MpowEr Counseling since this past spring. And Friday’s ribbon cutting makes their patient location’s move from over at 1300 East Main official.
MpowEr owner Mickensy Ellis-White stated that TeePak Credit Union offered a couple of big assists.
AUDIO: They were very generous by leaving us lots of the desks, and the office furniture and things like that; to help support us in our mission. And so, we got a great price; and we were able to move in in March.

Prior to the ribbon cutting, MpowEr owner Mickensy Ellis-White shared thoughts; as she was joined by State Rep Brandun Schweizer; Danville’s Mayor Rickey Williams, Jr; and State Senator Paul Faraci.
Ellis-White says they’ll be offering both Medicaid and private insurance coverages; as they provide assistance for regular mental health, substance use and addiction treatments, and much more. Paige Veronda is a mental health professional and intern finishing up her master’s degree while working at MpowEr.
AUDIO: So we accept Medicaid; it’s one of the best things for the area, just being more inclusive. We take adolescents, all the way through the life span. So we do individual, family, group counseling.
Mickensy Ellis-White said she’ll be hanging on to the 1300 East Main location, but 1035 East Main is now MpowEr’s headquarters for patient services.
