THE FOLLOWING IS A CARLE HEALTH RELEASE
Danville, Ill. – Residents living in or near Vermilion County are invited to learn more on Oct. 31 about mobile care options close to home and services the Carle Health system offers the community. Participants may tour inside the 40-foot Carle Mobile Health Clinic, shop on board the Carle Mobile Market and enjoy free Halloween treats from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. outside Carle at The Riverfront in Danville.
The mobile clinic started out on the road in 2018 with stops only in Champaign County. Recently, the number of days and stops in Vermilion County increased to make healthcare more accessible. An entire family from newborns to grandparents may be seen by Carle Health providers aboard the mobile clinic, which has two fully equipped exam rooms and easy access for those in wheelchairs.
Patients seeking care aboard the mobile health clinic will find full care services including but not limited to physicals (schools, sports, work), wellness exams, adult and childhood vaccinations (including flu and COVID-19), women’s health exams, STD screening and treatment, chronic condition management, full laboratory services, and acute care for symptoms including sore throats and ear aches.
Social services are also on board to conduct screenings and interventions for housing/utility support, mental health and financial needs. Referrals and consults are also available to connect with specialty care services or primary care.
“By removing complicated barriers, we’ve been bringing high-quality care and supportive services out into the community directly where people live, work and play,” Kelly Parker, MSN, RN, manager, Carle Mobile Health Services, said.
The calendar of mobile clinic stops is available here.
Visitors will also see the mobile market on wheels parked nearby. The market provides low-cost fresh, frozen and chilled foods. Like the mobile clinic, the market is accessible for those in wheelchairs.
Carle at The Riverfront is one of the mobile market’s regular stops, but there are other scheduled stops throughout Vermilion County three to four days a week in Danville, Catlin, Muncie, Oakwood, Rossville, Indianola, Georgetown, Ridge Farm, Hoopeston, Fithian, Henning, Collision, Potomac, Westville and Tilton.
The Mobile Market is supported by the Vermilion County Community Collaborative and led by Carle Health. The calendar of stops is available here.
