THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION IS COURTESY OF CONGRESSWOMAN MARY MILLER’S OFFICE
Dear Friends,
As we approach the end of the year, I want to share an update on the work I’ve been doing in Congress on behalf of families across our district. House Republicans have remained focused on advancing policies that uphold parental rights and common sense.
Under President Trump’s leadership, we are accomplishing more in just one year than many administrations achieve in four. This progress is the result of decisive action, clear priorities, and a commitment to putting American families first.
Here’s a look at what I’ve been working on…
Serving You
Serving the people of Central Illinois remains my top priority. Every day, my office works to help constituents navigate federal agencies, cut through red tape, and secure the answers and results they deserve.
Over the past year, we have assisted families with cases involving the IRS, the Social Security Administration, and the Department of Veterans Affairs. In November alone, our office helped return $13.4 MILLION to hardworking families across Central Illinois.
If you need assistance with a federal agency, my office is here to help:
House Republicans have advanced several pieces of legislation that reflect the values of our district and respond to the real needs of American families. I was proud to work alongside my colleagues and to help lead efforts on a number of these important initiatives.
This week, the House passed the Whole Milk for Kids Act, a commonsense measure to restore parental choice and improve childhood nutrition. As a member of the House Agriculture Committee, I was proud to serve as a cosponsor of this legislation, which gives schools the flexibility to offer both flavored and unflavored whole and 2% milk options. Ensuring children have access to nutritious food at school is essential to helping them grow, thrive, and succeed in the classroom.
In addition, my Working Families Flexibility Act passed out of the House Education and Workforce Committee. This bill allows employers to offer private-sector employees the option of paid time off in lieu of cash wages for overtime hours worked, giving working families greater flexibility to balance the demands of their jobs with the needs of their households.
Finally, my SCREEN Act successfully passed the Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing, and Trade of the House Energy and Commerce Committee. This critical legislation protects children from harmful and explicit online content by establishing age-verification requirements. I look forward to advancing this bill further in the new year as we continue working to safeguard our children in an increasingly digital world.
Exposing Democrats Defending Terrorists
House Democrats continue to unapologetically advance policies that weaken America’s national security and embolden our enemies. Rep. Gregory Meeks (D-NY) introduced H.Con.Res. 61, a dangerous resolution that would force the U.S. military to stand down against designated terrorist organizations operating in the Western Hemisphere.
This resolution would severely undermine our ability to confront real and active threats tied to cartel violence, drug trafficking, and transnational criminal networks—groups that are poisoning American communities and driving the deadly fentanyl crisis. At a time when tens of thousands of Americans are dying each year from fentanyl overdoses, Democrats are seeking to restrict the very forces responsible for dismantling these terrorist and criminal organizations.
President Trump has taken the opposite approach, one rooted in strength, clarity, and decisive action. History has proven time and again that weakness invites aggression. Removing pressure on terrorist organizations only emboldens them and puts American lives at greater risk.
Republicans stand firmly with our military, law enforcement, and American families. House Democrats, once again, have chosen to side with policies that protect criminals and terrorists targeting the United States, rather than the safety and security of the American people.
Standing Up for Our Kids
I remain firmly committed to protecting children from radical gender ideology being pushed by the Left. Children should be raised by their parents, and affirmed in the God-ordained truth of who they are.
That is why I strongly supported the Do No Harm in Medicaid Act, which recently passed the House. This commonsense legislation ensures that taxpayer dollars are not used to fund irreversible and harmful medical procedures on minors. Medicaid was created as a safety net to help Americans during difficult times, it was never intended to bankroll life-altering medical interventions on children.
Adolescence is a critical time in a young person’s life, and children deserve love, guidance, and protection—not government-endorsed policies that permanently harm their bodies or undermine parental authority.
Additionally, House Republicans passed the Protect Children’s Innocence Act, which criminalizes irreversible transgender medical interventions—including surgeries and hormonal therapies—on minors. Children are not old enough to vote, drive, or get a tattoo, and they are certainly not old enough to consent to life-altering medical procedures that permanently damage their bodies. This legislation takes an important stand to protect vulnerable children and uphold basic common sense.
This fight is far from over. I will continue working in Congress to protect innocence, defend parental rights, and ensure that federal policy protects our next generation.
