CHAMPAIGN, Ill – Level up your kitchen safety skills with a certified food safety training course from University of Illinois Extension. The University of Illinois Extension is offering three opportunities to take the one-day Certified Food Protection Manager Course. This training will be offered at Illinois Extension offices in Danville, Gilman, and Champaign. The class is open to adults and youth ages 15 and up. This class meets the Illinois Department of Public Health requirements and prepares participants to take the accredited American National Standards Institute (ANSI) exam.
In this class, participants will learn about the principles and recommendations of the FDA Food Code focused on food safety and contamination, employee health and hygiene, safe food handling practices, cleaning and sanitizing, and HACCP.
All trainings take place from 9 A.M. to 7 P.M. on their assigned date. Participants must attend the full training day to be eligible for the exam.

• July 27: Ford-Iroquois Counties Extension Office (1380 S Crescent St., Gilman, IL 60938)
• December 1: Champaign County Farm Bureau Auditorium (801 N Country Fair Dr., Champaign, IL 61821)
There is a $100 fee for adults and a $60 fee for youth to cover the cost of this educational session. This fee covers the purchase of educational materials, the examination, and lunch.
