THE FOLLOWING IS A UIUC COLLEGE OF VETERINARY MEDICINE RELEASE
URBANA – Lillian Bouton, a first-year student at the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine, was recently honored with a scholarship. Bouton is the daughter of Mr. David Bouton and Mrs. Dawna Bouton of Indianola, Illinois.
Bouton received the Frances Grolock Scholarship, awarded on the basis of financial need.
At the College of Veterinary Medicine, Bouton hopes to intertwine mobile large animal practice with missionary work; she is open to moving anywhere and eager to learn more about veterinary opportunities.
Bouton graduated from Georgetown Ridge Farm High School in Georgetown, Illinois, in 2021. She is also a graduate of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College in Indiana, earning a bachelor of science in equine pre-veterinary science in 2024.
The University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine is one of only 35 veterinary schools in the United States. It pioneered an innovative veterinary curriculum that focuses on integrating the clinical skills and basic sciences relevant to veterinary practice throughout the four-year doctoral degree program. Students in the Illinois program, unlike those in other veterinary curricula, spend 15 weeks during the first two years of study embedded in veterinary practice areas and practicing clinical skills in an extensive learning center equipped with models and simulations.
