Towards the end of Tuesday evening’s Danville City Council Public Works Committee meeting; Alderwoman Eve Ludwig (short ‘u’ – short ‘i’), who was in attendance, asked about some accessibility problems concerning the legal department after some City Hall roof damages from last weekend’s heavy rains.
One question that came up was, with Danville City Hall planned for an eventual move across Main Street to the now city owned Old National Bank Building, should the move now happen at a quicker pace?
City of Danville Public Works Director Dave Ruwe (ROO-ee) says he is sitting down with consultants to talk about EVERYTHING INVOLVED; from how much repair needs to be done before the move, to should the move happen sooner; along with how much still needs to be done in the bank building BEFORE a move happens?
AUDIO: We’re just trying to evaluate what the potential costs are for different options; and just trying to make sure that we make a sound financial decision; so we can temporarily ensure safe working conditions. However, we want to make sure we make a good long term decision.
Ruwe says people needing the legal department will only need to wait in a different location for a “short term.”
