THE FOLLOWING IS A CITY OF DANVILLE RELEASE
City crews are currently prioritizing emergency response efforts throughout the community, including clearing blocked roadways and removing hazardous limbs and debris that pose immediate safety concerns. In areas where downed power lines are present, brush and debris removal cannot begin until utility crews have safely secured and removed those lines. Residents may notice locations where debris has been left behind or where cleanup efforts appear to be only partially completed. In many cases, crews are focused on eliminating immediate hazards and restoring safe access before returning with additional equipment and personnel. If debris remains at a location, residents can be assured that additional crews will return to complete the cleanup and remove any remaining storm-related debris.
To assist residents with storm cleanup, the City of Danville will provide free curbside brush collection from Monday, June 15, 2026, through Thursday, June 25, 2026. Residents are asked to place brush piles at the curb for collection. For the safety and efficiency of our crews, all limbs and brush must be no longer than 4 feet in length and of a size that can be safely and reasonably handled by City staff. Brush should be neatly stacked at the curb and separated from other debris.
There will be no charge for this service during the designated cleanup period.
Residents may haul brush and storm debris to the City’s Yard Waste Facility at no charge during this timeframe. The facility’s operating hours are as follows:
• Monday through Thursday
• 7:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
• 1:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Please note that the City’s regular solid waste collection services and existing yard waste program will continue to operate on their normal schedules and will not be affected by the storm cleanup efforts.
The City of Danville appreciates the community’s patience and cooperation as crews work to safely restore affected areas and remove storm debris.
