The City of Danville took over the traditional Danville Labor Day Parade for the first time this year. Monday’s parade benefitted from sunshine, temperatures, temperatures finally cooling down a bit, and the traditional big time crowd along North Vermilion Street to make the Danville Labor Day Parade a success.

Danville Community Relations Coordinator Macy Davis says the city had fun doing it, and picked up some tips for the future.

AUDIO: We definitely learned about getting everybody their information; making sure they have their numbers and their spots. And no, they’re not interchangeable, you can’t swap them. But it went real smooth. Everybody came through really good, and the floats were great. And everyone was really excited.
