DANVILLE, Il. — September 7, 2026 — The Vermilion County Democratic Party and Mary Catherine Roberson for Illinois State Representative will co-host a fundraiser on Sunday, September 13, from 3 to 5 PM at The Heron, 34 N. Vermilion St. in downtown Danville.
The event will feature keynote speaker Donna Miller, Cook County Commissioner and Democratic nominee to replace Congresswoman Robin Kelly for Illinois’ 2nd Congressional District.
Colin Osterbur, event chair and Vermilion County Board of Review member, states, “We’re proud to bring Commissioner Miller to Vermilion County and give people an opportunity to meet our local candidates on the ballot.”
Mary Catherine Roberson, candidate for Illinois State Representative in the 104th District, said “I’m excited to co-host this event with the Vermilion County Democratic Party and to welcome Commissioner Miller back to Danville,” Roberson said. “We invite the community to join us to learn more about our incoming Congresswoman and other candidates on the ballot!”
Vermilion County Democratic Party Chair Amy Buttram said the event is also an opportunity to build enthusiasm as the November election approaches.
“This is what local organizing is all about, bringing people together and giving them a chance to get to know the candidates who want to represent them,” Buttram said.
The event will include tacos from Tacos y Nieves. Tickets are $25.
