The Black Eyed Peas have reached another major streaming milestone as the music video for Pump It has surpassed 1 billion views on YouTube. The achievement was confirmed this week, giving the group its fourth video to join the platform’s billion-view club.
Released in 2005 as part of the album Monkey Business, Pump It became one of the group’s most recognizable hits. The track samples Dick Dale’s version of Misirlou and later peaked at No. 18 on the Billboard Hot 100. Its high-energy sound also helped make it a regular part of the group’s live performances, including their 2011 Super Bowl halftime show.
Pump It now joins Where Is the Love?, My Humps and RITMO, the group’s collaboration with J Balvin, among Black Eyed Peas videos that have crossed 1 billion YouTube views.
The song has also remained active through later updates and remixes. Those include Pump It Harder and Tiësto’s Pump It Louder, helping introduce the track to newer audiences while extending its life well beyond its original release.
