On Thursday evening, with some dark storm clouds hovering above, the Danville High School Marching Band was having one of their final practices prior to hosting Saturday’s Viking Invitational. As DHS Director of Bands Ryan Krapf reminded us, eight visiting bands will be competing in Saturday’s show. Gates will open at 3:30 PM, with DHS making their exhibition performance as the hosting band at 6:30.
Krapf says the actual show Danville’s band is performing is called “The Gallery of Chaos.”

There will be food trucks on hand for the Viking Invitational as well. And don’t forget that the Viking Invitational is the second half of a musical double-header at Danville High School Saturday, with the Danville Symphony Orchestra performing in the Dick Van Dyke Auditorium with their season opener at 3 PM, “All the World’s a Stage.”
