DANVILLE, IL — Monday, October 5, 2026 — Rotary District Governor Deb West spoke with members of the Danville Noon Rotary Club about creating lasting impact and building goodwill in the community. Her remarks sparked a discussion about community partnerships, the projects made possible through Rotary Foundation gifts, and various service opportunities in District 6490.
West is a member of the Rotary Club of Bloomington, where she recently served as Foundation Chair. She has helped secure district grants and spearheaded her club’s successful End Polio Now campaign. Her Rotary leadership has also included serving as District Fundraising Chair, Risk Management Coordinator, Assistant Governor, and Assistant Governor Coordinator for four years.
West has led Assistant Governor training at Land of Lincoln President Elect Learning Seminar (PELS) for five years. She will serve as vice chair in 2026–2027 and chair the effort in 2027–2028.
When West asked members which club projects meant the most to them, many highlighted the Rotary Memorial Way Project, which lines Vermilion Street with flags on Memorial Day weekend, and Wreaths Across America at the National Cemetery during the holidays. Members expressed pride in coming together to take part in these community traditions.

The Danville Noon Rotary meets at noon on the first Monday of each month at WorkSource Enterprises. The next meeting will be held Monday, November 2, 2026 with a legislative update from Brandun Schweizer, State Representative for Illinois’ 104th District.
