Back in late January it was a dozen businesses, and now we are up to 23 businesses in Vermilion County that have received Back to Business (B2B) grants. This state program, funded by the federal American Recovery Plan Act (ARPA), is designed to help businesses recover from COVID hardships.
On the overall list, Vermilion County’s top four B2B grant recipients thus far are $150,000 to Tridan International at 130 North Jackson, $80,000 to the Signature Nails & Spa at 2 East Main in Danville, $75,000 to the Days Hotel at 77 North Gilbert, and $75,000 to Carstar Sterling Collision at 2408 Georgetown Road.
Nicole Van Hyfte of Vermilion Advantage points out that like she said after the initial dozen were awarded in January, keep the faith if you have applied.
AUDIO: People were a little discouraged at the beginning because Vermilion County wasn’t seeing too much. But we have recently started seeing more come in, in bigger numbers. And it’s just really a great thing to help our small businesses, and larger businesses, as they were all hit pretty hard during COVID. So this hopefully helps them out, helps them keep going, and helps them keep growing. We could see some more come in. Actually, I have faith that we WILL see some more come in.
