February 1 – March 31: Oscar Buzz Reading Challenge. Beanstack challenge featuring potential nominees for Best Adapted Screenplay.
Rubber Ducky Readers: Beanstack Challenge started March 1! For every 10 books read, the child will get a rubber duck, every 100 books equal a book, a sticker and a certificate, 1000 books equal a goody bag filled with a book, a sticker, a completion certificate, a stuffed animal, a blow-up rubber duck, etc. This challenge is for ages 0-6.
March 11: Teen Movie Mondays. Every Monday we will show a movie in Teen Zone and have popcorn! Teens can suggest and vote on which movie we watch. 4 – 6 PM.
March 11: Genealogy: Explore the Genealogy Merit Badge. Something fun! Go over the Boy Scout Genealogy Merit Badge requirements and learn if you have the skills needed to earn this merit badge. (not an official Boys Scouts of America function) 1-2:30 PM in the 2nd Floor Conference Room.
March 12: Teen Tabletop Tuesdays. Stop by the Teen Zone on Tuesdays to play board/card games and eat snacks! Tuesdays from 4-6 PM in the Teen Zone.
March 12: Tween It! Tuesdays. Fun programs for tweens each Tuesday. This week: BINGO! Come play Bingo and win prizes.
March 12: Wee Wigglers Story Time. Join us for action rhymes, stories, and songs for children ages 5 and under—Tuesdays at 10:00 AM in the 1st Floor Meeting Room.
March 13: Rainbow Readers Playgroup. Socialization, play and STEAM activities for toddlers. 10 AM- 11 AM. 1st Floor Meeting Room.
March 13: Dungeons & Dragons. A tabletop role-playing game that allows teens to quest for treasures and fame, or at the very least hunt enemies. This program is for teens, both those who are new to the game and those who already know the best way to cleave an orc. New players are always welcome! Wednesdays at 4:00 PM in the Teen Zone.
March 13: STEAM Team. Activities designed to help students foster creativity and boost critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Wednesdays from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM in the 1st Floor Meeting Room.
March 13: Wordy Wednesdays. Puzzle lovers, mark your calendars! Every Wednesday, head on up to the 2nd-floor Reference Desk for a variety of word puzzles. Available anytime during our regular business hours.
March 14: Anything Tech for Teens. Introducing teens to some of the library’s cool technology, including 3D Printing, 3D Pens, Sphero Balls, Cricut, and a Flight Simulator. Thursdays at 4:00 PM in the Teen Zone.
March 14: Family Bilingual Storytime. Join us for stories, songs, and rhymes in Spanish and English—Thursdays from 4:30 PM to 5:00 PM in the Children’s Department.
March 16: Goosebumps Parent/Child Book Club. Parents, share your Goosebumps nostalgia with your kids in our Parent-Child Book Club series! This month, we’re featuring A Night in Terror Tower by R.L. Stine. We’ll have activities and games, and you’ll get a free copy of the book to take home. 1 PM in the 1st Floor Meeting Room
March 16: Children’s Saturday Movie Matinee. Join us for a family-friendly movie in the Children’s Room every Saturday at noon. Children and Tweens welcome!
March 16: Hear It, See It, Make It, Take It: Sensory Story Time. Sensory programs are designed for youth of various ability levels including differently-abled youth. Saturdays at 11 a.m. in the 1st Floor Meeting Room.
Coloring Contest for all ages: Color a picture and win a prize. Return entries by the end of the month. Entries will be displayed in the Children’s Room. Winners will be notified. StoryWalk®: Enjoy a quiet walk and read a book! This month we have Twinky the Dinky Dog by Kate Klimo, in our back (South) windows. (The side facing Madison St.)
Weekly Crafts. Drop by for fun crafts in the children’s department. Available Monday through Thursday starting at 9 am-6:30 pm and Fri-Sat 9 am-2:30 pm. New craft each week! This week: St. Patrick’s Day Craft.
