"I never really thought about me being the grand marshal. It was an honor that I was asked to do it. It was suggested a few years ago, but I was the coordinator. I didn't feel it was appropriate," she said.

"We're incredibly proud to work alongside the East Central Illinois AFL-CIO to continue a parade that means so much to our community," said Mayor Rickey Williams, Jr. "The Labor Day Parade is an opportunity to recognize workers, celebrate our community, and bring residents together."
