The Vermilion County War Museum is hosting an open house on Saturday, (May 15, 2021), to honor those serving in America’s Armed Forces. It is National Armed Forces Day and the War Museum will observe it with an open house from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
Jim Kouzmanoff, President of the War Museum, says visitors will find reenactors and some new exhibits….
{AUDIO: ‘’We’ve had some new donations from – of all places – Kentucky, and places like that. So we’ve put those things on display, and we keep doing that because there’s always something new.’’}
Kouzmanoff adds sometimes it’s fun seeing what people donate to the War Museum through the mail…
{AUDIO: ‘’Or people drive in from Missouri, or Kentucky, or Ohio just to give you something.’’}
A new ‘Women of the Revolution’ exhibit is nearly complete and another new exhibit coming soon will focus on the Civil War.
National Armed Forces Day is held the third Saturday of May each year.
