A family escaped injury late Tuesday morning when their house caught on fire in the 200 block of Wisconsin Street in Westville. Fire officials say the blaze began on the porch; and then spread to the inside of the house, the detached garage, and to the car parked in the driveway. Up to 25 firefighters were on the scene for about 3 ½ hours, after the alarm was received at 10:59 AM. Westville fire received assistance from Georgetown, Ridge Farm, Carroll Township, Catlin, Tilton, Lynch, and Kickapoo fire departments. No fire personnel were injured. The cause of the fire continues to be investigated. Fire officials say arson was definitely not the cause.
