THE FOLLOWING IS A VERMILION COUNTY MUSEUM RELEASE
A Lincoln Birthday Card Contest for 4th and 5th grade students is being hosted by the Vermilion County Museum Society in conjunction with an Open House celebrating Abraham Lincoln’s 215th birthday on Sunday, February 11, 2024.
Open to 4th and 5th grade students throughout the county, students are encouraged to enter a birthday card for Mr. Lincoln either through their school or individually. Cards will be accepted at the Museum, 116 N. Gilbert Street, until 4:00 PM on Friday, January 26, 2024. Entries should be no larger than 8 ½” x 11” and include the student’s name, teacher, and school or home school representative. Students should include in their card a short verse about Lincoln or one of his famous quotes.

All entries will be on exhibit at the Museum for the open house and until February 28th, after which they will be returned to the students. Prizes for the winning cards will be awarded. This contest and the open house are being sponsored by the Judy K. and Jonathan Myers, The Myers Group, Morgan Stanley with the Commercial-News serving as media sponsor.
