The Boys and Girls Club of Danville will be having their 2nd Annual “Supporting Kid’s Futures” Cornhole Tournament Fundraiser; coming up on Saturday, February 17th at the David S. Palmer Arena. Executive Director Rob Gifford says there will once again be some different levels of competition.
AUDIO: There’s the ‘competitive division,’ where there’s a chance to win anywhere from $500 for first place to $100 for fourth. We have the ‘recreational division’ for those people that just are wanting to have fun. There’s gift card prizes for the top four places, as well as plaques. And then we have a new division called a ‘corporate division;’ which is basically set up for businesses that want to put teams to compete against each other, kind of like the old Balloon Classic back in the day.

Gifford says that in raising these funds for the kids’ futures and the Danville Boys & Girls Club, there are some definite goals for the very near future for their after school and summer programs.
AUDIO: Our building is over 21 year old; so we’re doing a lot of renovation, or trying to. We’re also getting ready to try to build on a new teen center to add more kids, because we have a waiting list every year. And this year’s no different.

Registration on Saturday, February 17th at the Palmer Arena begins at 11 AM, and competition starts at 12:30. To sign up a two-person team and for more information, please go to the Boys and Girls Club of Danville Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/BoysGirlsClubOfDanville
