THE FOLLOWING IS A DANVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT RELEASE
On Thursday morning around 1:00 a.m., Danville Police Officers responded to the 1600 block of Edgewood for a 911 dispatch of a medical issue.
Officers arrived and learned a 21-year-old female was in distress due to suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers rendered immediate medical care until EMS arrived. The victim was transported to a hospital where she is currently in stable condition.
Officers on the scene recovered spent shell casings and discovered through investigation the female had been shot in that area. Witnesses on the scene could not provide any suspect information and the Danville Police Department will continue investigating this incident.
