Ingredients:
- 3 and 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 3 sticks of unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 2 and 3/4 cups packed dark brown sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
- 2 cups small pretzel twists
- 1 cup pecans, roughly chopped (optional)
- 1 cup caramel sauce, warmed
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a sheet pan with nonstick spray.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and kosher salt.
- Cream together the butter and brown sugar on medium-high speed until fluffy and combined, about 3 minutes. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well and scraping down the sides of the bowl after each addition. Mix in the vanilla. Add the dry ingredients and mix on low speed until the dough just comes together.
- Transfer the dough to the prepared pan and use a greased hand to press it evenly to the corners. Gently smooth the top. Crumble the pretzels and scatter the pecans over the dough, pressing gently to adhere. Bake the bars for about 12 to 16 minutes, until lightly browned and a tester inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the bars to cool completely, around 30 minutes.
- Drizzle the caramel sauce over the bars. Cut into pieces and enjoy!
