THE FOLLOWING IS A VERMILION COUNTY MUSEUM RELEASE
The Vermilion County Museum Society is celebrating Lincoln’s 215th birthday with an open house on Sunday, February 11, 2024, from 1:30 to 4:00 PM in the Dr. William Fithian Home at 116 N. Gilbert St., Danville. Judy K. Myers and Jonathan A. Myers, The Myers Group, Morgan Stanley are sponsoring this event.
Due to heating issues in the Museum Center building, only the Fithian Home will be open for this event. Lincoln birthday cards, created by students from County and Danville schools, will be on display in the Museum Center, for free, from February 13th to February 29th during regular business hours so students can see their cards on display. Four hundred and thirty-four cards were entered by students from fifteen local schools. The full list of winners can be viewed at: www.vermilioncountymuseum.org.

The winners of the card contest will receive certificates and prizes once the cards are returned to the school at the end of February. Illini Skateland and McDonald’s are donating coupons to all participants.
Cake donated by County Market-Village Mall will be served during the Open House. This is a FREE event. Parking is available in the Museum parking lot, Auto-Mobile Diagnostics, and Carle.
