With the Spring Session back in gear in Springfield, 51st District GOP State Senator Chapin Rose has told Neuhoff Media that YES, he does see HOPE for a change in the Estate Tax this time around. A proposal in the House would prevent the so-called “death tax” from kicking in until the assessed value reaches $6 million, rather than the current $4 million.
AUDIO: You’re starting to see a bipartisan coalition around it. That’s more than I’ve seen out of the Democrats in a decade. More than just farmers, though; it’s any small business owner. Of course we’ve had so many people leave Illinois and headquarter elsewhere. Trucking companies are a perfect example.
And then, of course, everyone has their eyes on how the migrants issue in Chicago is being felt around the entire state, with cities and counties considering non-sanctuary rules to counter the state’s policy. Senator Rose says, there are simple solutions not being explored, on both the state and federal levels.
AUDIO: J.B. Pritzker’s out there begging the governor of Texas not to send any more people to Illinois. Well, Governor Pritzker, you’re the one who declared us a sanctuary state. What did you think was going to happen when you did that, sir? But he won’t run away from it. He won’t say we’re no longer a sanctuary. We’ve over a billion dollars in state tax dollars now that are going to illegal immigrants. Even though this is now destroying the so-called blue states; the Illinois and the New Yorks and the Californias, right? Biden has still got his head in the sand. This silly fight with the state of Texas over securing the border; why you wouldn’t you say “hey Texas, let’s figure out how we’re going to work together to get this done” instead of taking them to the Supreme Court?” And that’s just nonsense.
Rose says it looks like voters nationwide will have to try to solve that issue in November.
As for the recently proposed police restriction House bill that would prevent police in Illinois from being able to pull over cars for basic violations, Rose says do not believe the latest explanation that it was a “conversation starter.” He says keep your eyes and ears open at all times.
AUDIO: This is how this nonsense gets started. Now you have to watch in the last days of session, to see if it pops up at two or three o’clock in the morning like the Safe-T Act did. The crazy thing is, these people actually believe this stuff. Listen, I used to be a prosecutor. The place where you take guns and drugs off the streets is on traffic stops.
And on it goes in Springfield; Governor Pritzker will be giving his State of the Union and Budget Address next week, on Thursday, February 15th.
